As Palm Sunday dawns, confusion swirls around Jesus' identity and mission.  Jesus' final prayer is a plea for God's continued protection and unity amidst His followers' trials.  This all foreshadows the sacrifice that will ultimately bring oneness through His resurrection.

Information about my travels

On Tuesday, March 19th, Missionary Flights International carried 4 passengers, including myself from the United States to Haiti. As there is so much turmoil in Haiti at this time, the flight experienced turbulence for the entire 4 and half hour trip giving us a preview of what was to come. We landed safely in Cap Haitien to clear through customs and then continued our journey to our final destination in Pignon, Haiti. Unfortunately, people here are starving. I am grateful to MFI because I had an opportunity to bring in some ramen noodles, dry milk, peanut butter and medical supplies for 100 people but it's just not enough. The people all over Haiti are struggling because of the violence in Port au Prince. It has blocked aid and everyday necessities from getting to small villages because there is no gas to travel. Staple products such as rice, beans and oil are too expensive to buy when they are available so families are going without. 

Habitat For Children Ministries is about 3 and half hours from the capital of Port au Prince but we are feeling the effects through the widespread hunger. We know that we can't feed everyone but the more help that we can get, the better the people of Haiti will be. I have been talking with people in the United States for future food shipments but the Haitian families need help now. We at Habitat want to continue our efforts in helping as much as we can for as long as needed because we know of the political hardships that continuously affect this country.

As we approach the crucifixion, Jesus is giving comfort amidst coming hardship, revealing a deeper connection with the Father and to peace despite future scattering. All this echoes the story of Lazarus, where Jesus' power over death foreshadows His ultimate sacrifice for humanity.

 QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEK:   Comfort Comfort: Plainly Overcome

1. When are times when you’ve felt scattered in the world?  When are times when you’ve caused others to feel scattered?

2. Read John 16:25-17:6.   Jesus says that He speaks plainly and to take heart that He’s overcome the world.  Describe some times when Jesus was scattered.  How does Jesus overcome those times?

3. What does it mean that Jesus overcame the world for you?

Like a vine tender cares for their vineyard, Jesus nurtures each branch. Nicodemus, once overgrown and shadowed, needed pruning to grow in the light. At the cross, after 3 years of pruning, everyone else saw only darkness, but Nicodemus saw the light of the King.

Family Meals, Inc. was launched to help Treasure Coast families understand the importance and value of sharing family meals. We do this by providing meal ingredients, and table-talk materials to help the working poor prepare and enjoy family celebrations for three special occasions throughout the year.   Uncooked meals are delivered to the doors of those families so they may prepare the meals themselves, in the privacy of their homes, allowing them dignity and respect they deserve.

[Sunday] Abraham Called Ephesians Ch 1

Father Abraham was called to look up at the stars and see countless descendants. Believing this calling, he moved forward in sinfulness as he tried to throw it all away. Even when we fail in our callings, God is still faithful to that original promise of Abraham, bringing unity to people.
