August Haiti Update
See what is happening in Haiti and with the Habitat for Children ministries. There is a lot of good work being done, along with many challenges and struggles that they continue to face.
Habitat for Children Ministries is nearing completion of the second level of its care center, a vital resource designed to address the critical issue of infant mortality in Haiti. The center focuses on providing essential healthcare services to the local community, with a special emphasis on safe childbirth. With the second level almost complete, the next major step is finishing the roof. Your support and donations are urgently needed to help Habitat for Children Ministries complete this crucial final stage, ensuring the care center can open its doors and begin its life-saving work.

Today, I had the privilege of presenting an appropriation check for $2,250,000 to Alzheimer’s Community Care, an incredible organization making a real difference for families right here in our community.
For over 25 years, Alzheimer’s Community Care has been a lifeline for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and related neurocognitive disorders, as well as for their caregivers.
This funding will help expand their services and strengthen their ability to provide comfort, dignity, and hope to those affected. Alzheimer’s doesn’t just impact one person, it touches entire families. Supporting organizations like this ensures that families in our community have access to the resources, expertise, and compassion they need.
Crafters at Summer Bible Club
Adults from Grace's Summer Bible Club and a crafters' group teamed up to make crafts for ministries in Port St. Lucie and Haiti, bringing generations together on the club's final night.
Parents and other adults from Grace's Summer Bible Club have been busy crafting to support ministries in both Port St. Lucie and Haiti. During the final night of the regular Bible club, the crafters' group and parents came together to work on these projects. This collaborative effort brought different generations together, fostering a sense of community while creating items that will make a positive impact both locally and abroad.
Haiti Update / Second Story on Clinic
See what is happening in Haiti and with the Habitat for Children ministries. There is a lot of good work being done, along with many challenges and struggles that they continue to face.
We are excited that the 2nd story of the Clinic and Care center are almost completed.
Haiti is filled with many stories of struggle and resilience as well. Below are some recent updates about what is currently happening around our Clinic.
The people are standing with jugs of water, patiently waiting for their turn at the hand pump. Unfortunately, there is simply not enough capacity to meet the water demand.
The mobile clinic is already seeing patients this morning, showing the urgent need for healthcare in the community. Many families depend on this important service, so it’s essential to provide proper support for timely and effective care.
How to Support:
Donate medical supplies and equipment
Push for policies that support mobile healthcare
Volunteer medical or logistical help
Work with local groups to reach more people
We need your help for Dorsaint Wilbens
He crashed on a motorcycle and was released from the hospital because there was no available room for him to stay.
Did you know almost 1 in 5 Haitians can’t get good medical care? Good care means more than just seeing a doctor—it means having someone who listens and understands you. Everyone deserves kind and helpful healthcare. Let’s come together to push for better medical services! Your voice counts. Share your thoughts or mention a healthcare hero below!

Update and Photos of Christmas at Grace 24’
Great Christmas at Grace
Great Christmas at Grace.
This past Christmas season was truly remarkable!
Haiti: We had the privilege of serving in new ways through Christmas Boxes and witnessed the completion of the Loo's project.
Children's Ranch: We continued our support by providing Angel Tree gifts.
Local Impact: Our Crafters generously made gifts for our Grace Kids and also for the children at Good Samaritan Ministry in PSL.
Wednesday Nights: Attendance was fantastic! We enjoyed wonderful games, laughter, and a renewed Christmas spirit. It's a far cry from the pre-Covid days when we struggled to reach 20 people at our Advent services.
Sunday Services: Our children delighted us with their singing and bell-ringing. We also celebrated the baptism of one of our own.
2025 is ready to go for us.
We will continue to follow our Lord, Emmanuel, through the cross, on the Kingdom Way.
Peace to all.

Milton Aftermath at Grace (Photos)
We have wrestled with Milton. Let us stay together.
We contended with this storm, but we got through another one.
Please communicate with those at church to check on each other.
So here is what is in this post.
How are things at Grace Lutheran PSL
How are people doing in our Church
How to help those on the west coast
How are things at Grace?
Things are good at Grace. We had the shutters up on the original building.
The church has power (I have never seen the church without power, as Grace is on the same lines that support the emergency room in SLW).
We do have some small things.
General debris on the campus
4 of our decorative trees our down.
We have need for our trees to be uprighted and re-supported
Alzheimer’s patients return tomorrow morning.
Thanks to Maryann and Gary for Cleaning the grounds!
How are our friends doing in our church?
I (Pastor Cris and Coli) do not currently have power 10/10/24 4pm
Everything else is normal.Thursday was a scary day for us in St Lucie County. I don’t know what the final number was, but we had somehting like 20 tornandoes in the area.
I have talked and texted with a good amount of poeple.
Most are fine, some have power and others don’t.
I have talked with a few where the tornadoes did not hit them but homes in their direct neighborhoods where hit.
I know of
Frank and Trisha, Martin Co.
Megan and Tom, Rosser Blvd.
Kevin, Lakewood Park.
I know of more but these seemed to be the closest.
The first phone call I recieved Wednesday was from Joeseph and Lena.
It said they just got hit by a tornado. (north of Sams on Gatlin)
The tornado went right down the edge of their property and went down their road.
Their damage is minimal, but their water softner was damaged by a branch in the tornado. So they are without water and power.
They are staying with family in Tradition.
If you know any more stories, please let Pastor Cris know.
Here are some I have Recieved.
Hans
We did have a lot of tornado activity around us in Hope sound and south Stewart. We were under a tornado warning for four hours consecutive.
I visited three customers today, whose property is within a mile of our house and they varied from significant impact to near devastation.
How do we help with our friends on the west coast?
Thursday I recieved a call from Jay Wedland (head of Lutheran Early Response Team).
He was asking for how we are and asking for volunteers to help in St Petersburg. The 2 churches in St. Petersburg have 75 homes with signifigant flood damage.
He was asking for volunteers to muck out homes there before the mold sets in.
He stressed that it is not pleasant work. It is hot and messy.
I asked how long would someone be expected to help.
He said no more than a week, and it can be just a couple of days.
He will take what he can get.
Wednesday would be the earliest day you would begin.

Photos and Support Letter in Haiti

Support Letter
Habitat For Children Ministries, Inc. (HFCM) is a 501 C (3) non-profit organization working in the rural area of LaJuene, Haiti. Founded in 2005 by Meschac St Amour, HFCM has sought to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the children and families in the area by providing food, clothing, shelter, access to education, school supplies, and medical attention and care, all while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. Over the past year, this work has been extremely difficult due to the violence and unrest in the capital city of Port-au-Prince.
HFCM is about 3 and half hours away from the capital however, our village is feeling the effects through widespread hunger. Gangs have created roadblocks for trucks traveling out of the capitol which is stopping aid and everyday necessities from getting to small villages. There is also no gas to travel and staple products such as rice, beans and oil are too expensive to buy even when they are available, so families are going without.
HFCM has been working to bring over as much food and aid to the people as possible and we want to continue our efforts in helping as much as we can for as long as needed because we know of the political hardships that continuously plague the Haitian country.
HFCM uses Missionary Flights International out of Fort Pierce, FL to deliver goods directly into the mountain area at $1.95/a pound. Some of the items that we know can go far are ramen noodles, dry milk, cereal, oatmeal, rice, dry beans, spaghetti/macaroni noodles and peanut butter.
We know that we can't feed everyone but the more help that we can get, the better the people of Haiti will be because families need help now. To find out more information on how you can be a blessing, please contact Meschac St Amour at any of the following:
