True Power - The Spirit Experience - Acts 19
QUESTIONS TO REFLECT ON DURING THE WEEK - “Freedom To”
Read Acts 15:1-5. What is the issue that the church is facing?
Read Acts 15:6-22. What is their decision regarding this issue? How do they go about making their decision?
Read 1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1. Their decision at the Jerusalem council in Acts 15 deals with how to live under the freedom of Christ. How does Paul in 1 Corinthians shed more light on this?
What are some temptations you have faced that cause you to use the freedom you have in Christ that is permissible but not beneficial?
How does Christ and His attitude towards you and other sinners serve as a model to imitate for neighbors in your life?

What Had happened at Grace this week.
When we read the flood story, it's so easy to focus on the destruction, but the true focus is the rainbow. 1 Peter chapter 3 shows us something amazing: God’s bow points us straight to the cross, the empty tomb, and the hope we have in deep waters.
Bible study traced Mark 6 from Jesus’ rejection in Nazareth and the sending of the Twelve to Herod’s image-driven beheading of John, the feeding of the five thousand, Jesus walking on water, and widespread healings—contrasting unbelief and hollow power with Jesus’ true shepherd-king authority.
Bible study explored Philippians 2, focusing on humility, service, and Christ’s self-emptying, with reflections on unity, practical ministry, and Paul’s pastoral tone.
God frees us from the frightening prospect of “evangelism”. For true witnessing is seeing others, and joyfully sharing the beauty of the God who rescues us.
Bible study launched a Philippians series, exploring Paul’s joy amid imprisonment, the meaning of “epistle,” and the Lutheran contrast between a theology of the cross and a theology of glory—finding freedom in Christ whether we live or die.
Bible study explored Mark 4–5’s crescendo of Jesus’ authority over chaos, demons, disease, and death—highlighting faith, compassion, bodily resurrection hope (against Gnostic ideas), cultural context, secrecy in ministry, and the symbolic resonance of “twelve.”
Jesus frees us from the pressure of having to pray the "perfect" way. Because He is the Lamb who was slain, you can pray boldly knowing your Father in heaven hears you!
Let’s celebrate our country’s 250th anniversary together with good food, good friends, and good fun!
